swollen bladderwort, Utricularia inflata
What an unappealing common name for an interesting plant. The symmetrically radiate stems that keep it afloat catch your eye as much as the flowers. And being bladderwort, it has tiny globular traps on those stems that can close on small water creatures in 10 to 15 milliseconds. Inflated bladderwort grows in AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, MA, MD(E), MS, NC, NJ, NY(E), OK, PA, SC, TN(S), TX, and WA. Matthaei Gardens, U. of Michigan, 3/6/16.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
