Laxmann's milkvetch, Astragalus laxmannii
Laxmann's milkvetch is part of a very large genus. I started to count the species on the USDA plants site but gave it up at 46 species that start with a. It's the largest genus, with about 4200 species worldwide. Not too many here in the northeast, but as one gets farther away, they quickly multiply. An almost constant delight on the wildflower search, and some real good puzzles for identification. Laxmann's grows in AK, CO, IA, ID, KS, MN, MT, ND, NE, NM, OR, SD, UT, WA, WY, AB, BC, MB, NT, ON, SK, and YT. Lake co CO, 6/20/13.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
