Russian knapweed, Rhaponticum repens
Well, pardner (in the voice of John Wayne), keep your hoss away from this one! It will cause Parkinson's like symptoms if he eats it. This Eurasian invader became the last image of that day's ride through Colorado. It was growing in the neglected lot next to the motel. Russian knapweed now has been reported from AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, NV, NV, OH, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WI, WY, AB, BC, LB, ON, and SK. Montrose Co, CO, 6/20/13.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
