black-eyed Susan, Thunbergia alata
Here's yet another black-eyed Susan. This one's a vine, but comes with the same color theme as others. No? Is it blind? Or am I? This is a variation on the theme, one I've only seen in the wild. This black-eyed Susan is often cultivated, where I've never seen one without the eye. I don't really know if those variations occur in that pattern. These black eyes, with or without, show up in FL, HI, and TX. Brevard Co FL, 1/27/13.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
