coastal plain yelloweyed grass, Xyris ambigua
Yelloweyed grasses normally are entirely yellow, so this one particularly fascinates. They're also really good puzzles for this northerner. The center of distribution for the 250 or so species is the Guianas. We don't often see them as far north as Michigan, and I'm nor real confident of the identification. Except for size, they all seem to look a lot alike. Which makes the occasional white flowers more fun, and if anything even prettier. This species grows in damp spots in AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, VA, and south into the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. Wakulla Co FL, 7/8/18.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
