lacy tansyaster, Machaeranthera pinnatifida
Here's another DYC - damned yellow composite. Although, as one goes west, and tries to identify them, one might get even more testy about it. This one has been a tougher puzzle than most, and if anyone has a better idea, let me know. Like Flora of North America, who might say this is Xanthisma spinulosum. Even the pros don't agree. In any case, it's a pretty little aster-sized flower with interesting spiny leaves. If we believe the Machaeranthera idea, it grows in AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, KS, MN, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, SD, TX, UT, WY, AB, MB, and SK. Sedgwick Co CO, 6/25/13.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
