pineland clustervine, Jacquemontia curtisii
Not all flowers in the morning-glory family look like morning-glories. In fact, I'm not even sure what this one looks like. One authority says this Jacquemontia has rounded ends on the sepals. This one has points, like Havana clustervine, J. havanensis. Another says the leaves of Havana are no more than a half inch. This one has much larger leaves. Pictures on the net are no less confused. Either way, they just grow in south Florida, where J. curtisii is threatened, and J. havanensis is endangered. The flowers are almost an inch across. Everglades National Park, 1/26/13.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
