tall white lettuce, Prenananthes altissima

What's white about tall white lettuce? Some of its relatives, although I don't think I've ever seen any of them that are fully white. Kind of like my race of people. Not much lore about this one. The Iroquois did make a poultice from the roots to apply to snake bites. Tall white is a woodland plant in AL, AR, CT, DE, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WV, LB, NB, NS, ON, PE, and QC.
