moth mullein, Verbascum blattaria

I've always enjoyed the delicate shade of yellow here. Most species of mullein are more intensely yellow. What!? Wait? It's not yellow? Well, it's not my fault! Those over there are yellow. Actually, moth mullein is an odd sort, never able to decide if it's yellow or like this one, white with just a faint blush. You're as likely to see one color as the other, in old fields or other spots disturbed by us. Moth mullein is a Eurasian immigrant you can see in any state except AK, MN, and WY, and in BC, NB, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 6/26/11.
