white vervain, Verbena urticifolia
These little flowers don't do much to attract wildflower hunters. One suspects this may be one of the least sought out species. Of course, pollinators function on a very different scale. Eighth inch flowers are no problem for the many that are attracted to this vervain. It is a very successful plant, growing in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME(X), MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, MB, NB, ON, QC, and SK(E). Lenawee Co MI, 7/1/12.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
