European eyebright, Euphrasia stricta
This was the first nice discovery above the bridge (Mackinac of course). A sight for sore eyes! Actually, it is a traditional medicine for sore eyes. These days there are skeptics, and no evidence that the decoctions work more than other moisture. But as Wiki says, "absence of evidence is not proof of inefficacy". European eyebright now has been reported from IL, MA, ME, MI(UP only), NH, NY, PA, RI, VT, WI, NB, NF, ON, PE, and QC. Mackinac Co MI, 8/10/19.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
