maple-leaf viburnum, Viburnum acerifolium
Maple-leaf viburnum or arrow-wood can be six or seven feet tall, but is more often a more modest size - about waist high. It can be found in forest understory, and sometimes in gardens. The leaves have a little more interest than the ordinary oval shapes of most of its relatives. The black berries attract birds and other wildlife. Maple-leaf grows in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, NB, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 6/1/13.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
