sleepy morning, Waltheria indica
Sleepy morning seems like a good choice for this later morning post. Wish I knew why they call it that. The small flowers are on shrubs that get about head high. Sleepy morning is used for treatment of a variety of problems, most often women's ailments. Waltheria is belived to be native here, but now occurs around the world in the tropics. With us it's in AL, AZ, FL, HI, and TX. EvergladesNational Park, Dade-miami Co FL, 1/25/13.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
