Carolina grassleaf goldenrod, Euthamia caroliniana
The best and the brightest? That of course is goldenrods in general, but among them this one excels. It can be one of the more densely and intensely flowered species. This is the eastern cohort to Texas goldentop, which we looked at a couple weeks ago. As it goes west the leaves become less fine. It can be a challenge to decide which one you've got if you encounter them in Kentucky or Louisiana. Carolina grows in AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME(T), MS, NC, NJ, NY, PA(T), RI, SC, TN, VA, VT, WV, and NS. Dooly Co GA, 10/19/15.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
