Scotch pine, Pinus sylvestris
Merry Christmas from one of the most frequent Christmas trees. One of the first trees introduced here from Eurasia, Scotch pine arrived in about 1600. It has been reported wild from CT, DE, IA, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT, WI, AB, BC, MB, NB, NF, NS, ON, PE, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, including Ives Fen Preserve, 5/21/15. Pine family, Pinaceae.

I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
