tufted loosestrife, Lysimachia thyrsiflora

This is a fun-to-see loosestrife. It's just a little different than most of its siblings in the genus. The flowers are much smaller, but appears in heads that end up being about the size of flowers on other species like fringed loosestrife. Plants that grow in water seem to occasionally reproduce by developing bulblets in the upper leaf axils. Among other species, bulblets only appear on swamp candles. To see this, you will often end up getting wet and muddy feet. Fun, fun, fun!
