Yellow fumewort is a delicate little plant that tends to sprawl on the ground, never reaching more than a few inches upward. At Riley Preserve these welcomed visitors near the trailheads, and popped up here and there along the way. The flowers are hardly a half inch long. Yellow fumewort grows in woods in AL, AR, CT(T), DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI(T), MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, and ON.
