yellow fumewort, Corydalis flavula
Yellow fumewort is a delicate little plant that tends to sprawl on the ground, never reaching more than a few inches upward. At Riley Preserve these welcomed visitors near the trailheads, and popped up here and there along the way. The flowers are hardly a half inch long. Yellow fumewort grows in woods in AL, AR, CT(T), DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI(T), MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT, and ON. Gladys Riley Golden Star Lily Preserve, Scioto Co OH, 3/30/20. Poppy family, Papaveraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
