slender toothwort, Cardamine angustata
Riley Preserve abounds with toothworts. Slender toothwort accounts for most of them, more or less. This is a new species for me, and I found it more than a little confusing. The leaf divisions within this population are extremely variable in number and width. Most of the flowers were white, but a few were this nice shade. The day before this walkabout was cool, rainy, and very windy. So the flowers on these slightly taller plants were pretty beat up. It was hard to find one even this good. Slender toothworts grow in AL, AR, DE, GA, IN, KY, MD, MS, NC, NJ, OH, OK, PE, SC, TN, VA, and WV. Gladys Riley Golden Star Lily Preserve, Scioto Co OH, 3/30/20. Mustard family, Brassicaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
