slenderleaf false foxglove, Agalinis tenuifolia
Slenderleaf false foxglove is one of my favorites from this genus, simply because its easy to recognize. Some of its relatives can be a real challenge. Agalinis purpurea in particular can't decide what it wants to look like. The small flowers and long peduncles of this one make it distinct. The flower tube is relatively short compared to the others that have tubes more like foxgloves. Slenderleaf false foxglove grows in damp ground in AL, AR. CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI(S), SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, WY, MB, NB, ON, and QC. Wayne Co MI, 8/22/16. Broomrape family, Orobanchaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
