hoary mountain mint, Pycnanthemum incanum
Hundreds of miles from home and finally starting to see some new plants. But the wind is picking up, clouds are gathering, and it will be raining any moment. Is that why I hurried this shot, and didn't see the bug? I only became aware of the ambush bug yesterday, when I considered this image for today. Hoary mountain mint grows in AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, MS, NC, NH(E), NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, VT(E), WV, and ON(E). Polk Co TN, 7/6/18. Mint family, Lamiaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
