How do we end up with navel cornsalad? Are we that desperate for names? Couldn't we call this northern cornsalad? Some do, but mostly it's navel. Apparently long ago someone thought the seeds looked like navels. With so many thousands of plants in the world, is it sometimes just hard to come up with a different name? Navel cornsalad grows in mostly open areas in AL, CT, IL(E), IN, KY, MA, MD(X), MI(T), NC, NJ(E), NY(E), OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, WV, and ON. Scioto Co OH, 4/20/20. Valerian family, Valerianaceae.
