petty spurge, Euphorbia peplus
If only I had known sooner! This insignificant weed has white sap. If you get some on your fingers and forget it, and later rub your eyes, you will never again think of it as insignificant. You might start calling it by its other name, radium weed. On the other hand that sap is genuinely effective for treating actinic keratosis and skin cancer. If I had known all this I could have saves a lot of trips to treatment! No eye flushing! No liquid nitrogen! Most of all no scalpels? Or maybe just not mess with it. If it gets in your garden, be careful. And wear hats! Petty spurge has been reported from every state and province except AR, FL, KS, KY, MN, MO, MS, NE, OK, SC, SD, TX, WY, LB, NT, NU, YT, and is on SPM. Lenawee Co MI, 7/5/18. Spurge family, Euphorbiaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
