Canada lily, Lilium canadense
Canada lily varies in color from yellow to almost red. The sepals and petals are not as swept back as Michigan lily, which is in the background. Canada lily buds and roots are edible. This grows in AL, AR, CT, DE, GA, IN(R), KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NY(V), OH, PA, RI(T), SC, TN(T), VA, VT, WV, NB, NS, ON, and QC. Beal Gardens, MSU, 6/24/12. Lily family, Liliaceae.

I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
