whitest evening-primrose, Oenothera albicaulis
Traveling routine; up, shower, dress, look for flowers while others get ready for the day. By the time we're on the road, there are fresh images in the camera and the mind. Whitest evening-primrose was the ideal subject. What better time to find it than morning. By mid day it will fade. And it's hard to shoot when it opens at night. Not hard to find, being 'whitest', but hard to shoot. Whitest grows in AZ, CO, IL, KS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, NY, OK, SD, TX, UT, and WY. Logan CO CO, 6/25/13. Willow-herb family, Onagraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
