humped bladderwort, Utricularia gibba
Why isn't this a better image? Humped bladderworts deserve better. Those little flowers stretching out of the muck decorate spots we otherwise pretty much avoid. And there it is! I just wasn't ready to get down with this one. To get a good close up of a quarter inch subject, you have to get close. Maybe use a tripod. How do you do that in a couple feet of more of muck? You can certainly have the chance. Humped bladderwort grows around the world, here in AK, AL, AR, CA, CT(S), DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD(E), ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ(E), NY, OH, OK, OR, PA(X), RI(T), SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, BC, NB, NS, ON, and QC(L). Lenawee Co MI, 8/25/14. Bladderwort family, Lentibulariaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
