golden corydalis, Corydalis aurea
Fun, fanciful, or just literal, pick your common name here! Scrambled eggs, golden smoke, or golden corydalis. Around here we seem more literal, the other names more often pop up out west. I wonder what the Navajo call it? They used it to treat a variety of ailments, including snakebite. It also serves as sheep fodder. Strong stomachs, those sheep! The Ojibwa inhaled smoke from the roots to clear their heads or revive the unconscious. Golden smoke grows in AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA(T), ID, IL(E), KS, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY(T), OH, OK, OR, PA(E), SD, TX, UT, VT(T), WA, WI, WV, WY, AB, BC, MB, NT, ON, QC(L), SK, and YT. Summit Co CO, 6/16/13. Poppy family, Papaveraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
