hyssopleaf thoroughwort, Eupatorium hyssopifolium
In October 2015 I delivered a friend's car to Florida. Couldn't pass up a chance to cruise some new roads at a new time of year! Before this I've described that as a blazing-star tour. It could just as well be the throughwort tour. Those ywo genera were easily the most plentiful. There were several small headed throughworts that are quite different than you might see in my Michigan home area, and hyssopleaf was one. This one is particularly attractive to a range of pollinators. It is sometimes planted around cultivated fields to draw pollinators to the area. Hyssopleaf throughwort grows in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MD, MS, NC, NJ, NY, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV. Dooley Co GA, 10/20/15. Aster family, Asteraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
