Douglas fir, Pseudotsuga menziesii
One of these that will not grow to be the second tallest of trees is currently sitting in our living room. Here's another with its springtime ornamentation. Douglas fir is at home or has spread in AZ, CA, CO, ID, MI, MN, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, PA, TX, WA, WY, AB, and BC. Cultivated, Lenawee Co MI, 5/3/15. Pine family, Pinaceae.

I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
