chervil, Anthriscus cerefolium
Chervil is one of the four herbs that make up fines herbes, the essential seasoning for French cuisine. That OSS agent, Julia Child, could not have operated without it. And as far as I can recall, I've never tasted it. The flavor is said to be subtle, a little like anise. Sounds good! This garden plant has now been found wild in CT, IL, MT, NJ, NY, OR, PA, SC, VA, WA, BC, ON, QC, and on GL. Beal Gardens, MSU, 5/23/16. Celery family, Apiaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
