Purple fountaingrass in Michigan? Should we feel guilty for growing this invasive? Maybe, but only if we think about setting a bad example. It won't be a problem this far north, and it is certainly attractive. And we probably shouldn't encourage the nursury industry to sell it here or anywhere. There are other choices. I didn't buy it this day at the nursery, but I shot the picture. Should I feel guilty . . . Purple fountaingrass has been reported from AZ, CA, CO, FL, HI, KY, LA, NM, OR, and TN.
