largeflower coreopsis, Coreopsis grandiflora
Largeflower is one of the more popular coreopsis in gardens. Nice to have one of our natives discovered. According to Wiki, this one is particularly popular in China. It sure is a great example of everything our eyes and spirits like about flowers of this style. Fanciful ray flowers, symmetrical disc flowers arranged with mathematical precision, and it's easy to grow. It will even seed itself and decorate our habitat with little effort on our part. Largeflower coreopsis now grows in AL, AR, CA, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 6/11/11. Aster family, Asteraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
