smallfruit false flax, Camelina microcarpa
Smallfruit false flax hadn't intersected with my orbit in many years. So it was nice to see it in a demonstration planting at Michigan State. What were they demonstrating? Weeds. This is a fairly common, sometimes noxious weed. Every time I have seen it wild it's been in fallow fields. This is not the source of camelina oil. Smallfruit false flax has been reported from every state and province except AK, FL, GA, HI, LB, NT, and NU. Beal Gardens, MSU, 5/13/20. Mustard family, Brassicaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
