To me this has always been splitleaf philodendron. Actually, that's a different plant, and I suppose we should be precise about it. Today's flower is rarely seen by all us house plant growers. In a more tropical habitat the flowers and fruit are plentiful, and the vines can get thirty feet long. All this is to satisfy an inquiry yesterday about philodendron flowers. Flowers of actual philodendrons are unusual enough that I don't have any images. They follow the same general concepts you see here, but are likely to be smaller and greenish. The creamy bract here is about six inches long. The 'deliciosa' epithet comes from the sweet and edible fruit. Monstera has spread to the wilds of FL. Hidden Lake Gardens, Lenawee Co MI, 7/8/18.
