trailing lantana, Lantana montevidensis
Other lantanas we're familiar with are shrubs. Trailing lantana is more of a sprawl. It also has just this one color, but of course that's plenty good enough. This gets planted worldwide in gardens and along borders. When I first encountered the pungent aroma of lantanas, I found it a little unpleasant. Now it's like meeting an old friend again. Trailing lantana started in South America, and is now wild in AL, CA, FL, GA, HI, and TX. Putnam Co FL, 1/28/13. Vervain family, Verbenaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
