Creeping burhead? What a creepy name for such an attractive plant. It's alternate common name of spadeleaf sword isn't much better. Nonetheless we like them enough to bring them into our aquariums and water gardens, and to develop cultivated varieties with mottled leaves. They will bloom in water, or in muddy areas. Creeping burhead grows in AL, AR, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN(X), KS, KY, LA, MD(E), MO, MS, NC, OK, SC, TN, TX, VA, and south through much of South America. Dixie Co FL, 10/20/15.
