hairyflower spiderwort, Tradescantia hirsutiflora
Hairyflower spiderwort seemed to be in the wrong place. None of my Florida sources have this one anywhere south of the western panhandle. Then comes the right volume of Flora of North America, and they mention that it has been found in the central panhandle - maybe. Turns out the experts aren't sure how to classify spiderworts either. In any case this is still the prettiest spiderwort I've ever found. Depending on how you classify this group of spiderworts, hairyflower could be in AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MO, MS, OK, or TX. Polk CO FL, 3/17/16. Dayflower family, Commelinaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
