rose vervain, Glandularia canadensis
Rose vervain is one of the best known garden flowers that came from here. No worries about this one spreading to the wild. This image was actually taken by my granddaughter Katie. She was seven then. Sadly, these days her primary interest in photography is to pick up her camera to call a friend. But she will have the chance to get back to it if she ever wants. Rose vervain grows in AL, AR, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY(T), LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NM. NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI, and WV. Hidden Lake Gardens, 7/12/12. Vervain family, Verbenaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
