meadow geranium, Geranium pratense
Meadow geranium is another of our garden geraniums. True geraniums, that is, as opposed to those spectacular but confusingly named plants that are actually Pelargoniums. These are perennial, so there's no need to go buy a bunch every year, and plant them every year. For a few bucks you can get geraniums that will last, and grow into bushy plants as much as three feet tall. Of course the price of that is that they may spread to our fields and roadsides. So far these Eurasians have turned up wild in CT, MA, ME, MN, PA, VT, WI, AB, LB, MB, NF, ON, PE, QC, and SK. Beal Gardens, MSU, 5/24/12. Geranium family, Geraniaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
