longbract trillium, Trillium underwoodii
Longbract trillium has a reputation for confusion. Even after the flowers open, the plants continue to get teller, passing through phases that resemble other species. At first they can look a lot like T. reliquum, which it sometimes grows with. When taller they are more like T. cuneatum. The Cases in their Trillium book say that only after you've seen them many times can you become confident that you know which Trillium you're seeing. You will see these in woods in AL, FL, and GA. Edgewood Garden, Chester Co PA, 4/21/21. Trillium family, Trilliaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
