sandhill wireweed, Polygonella robusta
Sandhill wireweed is also known as largeflower jointweed. Flower color ranges from this nice pink to white. Patches of these small shrubs will typically have both colors, and can be very attractive. This is a species of dry sandy areas, and in only known from central Florida. It can bloom year round, but is mostly seen in the fall. Levy Co FL, 10/20/15. Knotweed family, Polygonaceae.

I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
