henbane, Hyoscyamus niger
Henbane is a traditional ingredient in herbal medicines, potions, and brewing. It is psychoactive, producing hallucinations and sensations. Take it, and you will discover your magic. Confessed witches have used it. But you will probably have to grow it in your garden. I have not seen it wild, probably because I'm not old enough. Almost all of our Michigan records are from the 1800s. Henbane has been reported from CO, CT, DE, IA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MI, MT, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OR, PA, SD, UT, VT, WA, WI, WY, AB, MB, NB, NS, ON, PE, QC, and SK. Beal Garden, MSU, 8/13/13. Nightshade family, Solanaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
