Tonto Basin century plant, Agave delamateri
How can we see century plants? Travel to the Arizona Tonto every year for a century hoping to see them bloom? Or search the web for the right nearby conservatory? This one was blooming in the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory In Ft. Wayne IN. Now, please excuse my rant! Delamateri? It's not all about us! Shouldn't there be a lot more plants named after Native Americans? How about apacheiana? Or better, just ask them. They discovered them all long before we did! Cultivated, Allen Co IN, 3/26/21. Century plant family, Agavaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
