peanut, Arachis hypogaea
What can I say about goobers? That they're not a nut? The shells are too soft for them to qualify. Hardly any plant is more well known. And it's hardly a surprise that they've escaped to the wild in tropical and subtropical climates. Here they have been reported from AL, CT, DE, FL, GA, KS, KY, LA, MA, MO, MS, NC, NJ, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WV. Matthaei Gardens, UM, 7/9/16. Bean family, Fabaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
