gasplant, Dictamnus albus
Science vs. religion? Then sometimes we all get on the same page. Could this be the famous burning bush? It is native from southern Europe and north Africa across much of Asia. So it does grow in Moses country. Highly flammable gases transpire from the foliage of gasplant. In the warmest weather they are said to spontaneously combust. They will certainly produce a flash if any flame comes close. Could this be the show that Moses reported? Here and now this is a terrific flowering plant for your garden, but a little tricky to grow. Gasplant has been reported wild from MI, NY, and VT. Cultivated, Livingston Co MI, 6/1/19. Rue family, Rutaceae.
