honeyvine, Cynanchum laeve
OMG! I just realized that when I originally posted honeyvine, I clicked the wrong upload. So here's a do-over with the correct image. Honeyvine is a close relative of milkweed. This native makes a good garden addition to attract monarch butterflies and feed their caterpilars. It is of course a little toxic for the rest of us that don't have the ability to segregate those toxins so the birds don't eat us. Honeyvine grows in AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, NE, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV, and ON. Cedar Bog Nature Preserve, Champaign Co OH, 8/19/11. Dogbane family, 8/19/11.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
