longflower beeblossom, Oenothera filiformis
This small plant of longflower beeblossom was just finishing its season at Lynx Prairie Preserve. I shot it on spec, not knowing if it was longflower or biennial beeblossom. We now know this one has curly hairs on the stem, while biennial has straight ones. Otherwise the are a lot alike. Longflower grows in AL, AR, CO, CT, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NE, OH, OK, PA, TN, TX, WI, and ON. Adams Co OH, 10/2/21. Willowherb family, Onagraceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
