lily-of-the-valley, Convallaria majalis
Here are those cheerful lilies-of-the-valley. In Victorian days they became symbols of the return of happiness. Makes sense for this spring bloom. Jessica Roux in her Floriography describes the use of flowers for communication in that buttoned up time. Present someone with a bouquet of these and they know you've found happiness again. Pair lilies-of-the-valley with yarrow to bring happiness to someone else. Oops, lilies-of-the-valley and yarrow in the same season? Anyway, we can now find our happiness in AL, AR, CT, DE, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, TN, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, NB, NF, NS, ON, PE, QC, and SK. Lenawee Co MI, 5/1/12. Lily-of-the-valley family, Convallariaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
