common privet, Ligustrum vulgare
When I take short overnight photo trips, I often camp. The sleeping bag I use has to be washed at a laundromat. So what would one do while waiting for that load to finish? This common privet has moved into the vacant lot next door, very very close to where I sat in my office forty years ago when that lot wasn't vacant. Bit of an eyesore now, but up close it was a good place for me and the privet too. This invasive hedge shrub now grows in AL, AR, CO, CT, DE, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, MT, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, BC, and ON. Lenawee Co MI, 6/9/21. Olive family, Oleaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
