broadleaf pepperweed, Lepidium latifolium
One person's treasure is another person's invasive. In the Himalayas broadleaf pepperweed is a prized green vegetable. Here, it is getting invasive, and can particularly be a problem in floodplains. That's where I found this one, along the Platte River. It was quite a surprise. We Easterners are used to peppergrasses that don't get much more than a foot tall. Broadleaf was looking me right in the face. Broadleaf pepperweed has been reported from AZ, CA, CO, CT, IA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MO, MT, NE, NM, NV, NY, OR, TX, UT, WA, WY, AB, BC, MB, and QC. Logan Co CO, 6/25/13. Mustard family, Brassicaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
