iguanatail, Sanseveria hyacinthoides
Iguanas come from Africa? Or just their tails? At least Florida doesn't have to worry about these tails falling out of trees when they get too cold! Actually, this household escape is quite useful. The fiber from the leaves is silky, soft, and elastic. It has been used for making clothes, string, mats, nets, and paper. The plant has also been used to treat fevers, toothache, ear infections, haemorrhoids, and internal parasites. This one was wild on Key Largo, Monroe Co FL, 3/21/16. Centuryplant family, Agavaceae.

Hi Denise
Just thinking it's almost time to come look for Platanthera flava. Bob
Hi Bob:
I found it on Eber Rd, about 1.5 mi S. of Kitty Todd Preserve 1/4 mi from Metroparks land. I’m guessing it came in on the RR. (NwOhio)
Apparently so, but not on all plants. The brown only shows a little in this image.
Regarding umber pussytoes, one reference calls it brown-brackted pussytoes. Are it's bracts browner than other pussytoes?
